Location & Directions

Address

The Oregon Rail Heritage Center is located at:

2250 SE Water Avenue
Portland, OR 97214

Parking

Parking is free and is located under the Highway 99 viaduct, across the MAX tracks from the front of our building (directions).

Train Delays

Central Eastside train crossings can delay your arrival considerably. Consult the map for our recommendations for avoiding trains.

Public Transportation

Tri-Met buses, the MAX light rail (orange line) and the Portland Streetcar (A and B Loop) all pass directly by the Center. Visit Trimet’s website for additional information.

Accessibility

The Center adheres to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations and is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive experience throughout the museum facility.

However, accessibility on our train rides differs from accessibility within the Center due to our historic passenger cars. The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 USC Section 12184(c)) exempts historic train cars from complying with accessibility regulations.

All passengers on our train excursions must be able to climb 7 stairs to board the coaches and walk approximately 85 feet to a seat. Wheelchairs, mobility devices, and strollers are not permitted on the railcars due to limited aisle widths; temporary storage for devices is provided in the Center.

For questions regarding accessibility, please contact us at (503) 233-1156 or [email protected].

Gift Shop

The Gift Shop at the Oregon Rail Heritage Center features a wide selection of rail-themed souvenirs and merchandise, including books, toys, apparel, hats, pins, and more. Visit the Gift Shop during our open hours to discover unique items representing your favorite locomotives at the Center.

Members of the ORHC receive a 10% discount on gift shop purchases.
