Signature Indoor Artifacts

Throughout the Center, visitors will encounter a wide range of equipment and artifacts related to the rail industry and rail history of the Pacific Northwest. Highlights include a mid-1920s Fairbanks Morse-Sheffield Speeder used on the Mt. Vernon-Anacortes Interurban Line in northwest Washington, a Railway Express Agency baggage cart, and a railroad velocipede.

See a hydro test pump used for testing on the SP 4449 in the 1980s when the locomotive traveled to the California State Railroad Museum and even a vintage milk can once transported by train. Photographs and memorabilia from the 1986 movie Tough Guys which featured the SP 4449, along with regional rail maps and more, are also on display.
